1. "Decline of the Traditional Mall", http://www.pedestrainfriendly.com/. I chose this source because, first its title was the first thing that grabbed my attention. My argument is that strip malls are becoming more prevelant rather than the regular inclosed mall. Also there were a few good statistics about the declining malls in the U.S. The article also gives a theory of why people some prefer this type of mall over the traditional.
2. Figuracion,Inigo. "San Diego Shopping: Fashion Valley Mall". I chose this mall because I thought that it was beautiful and it explains why people are drawn to it as well to it being an outside strip mall. The article gives great description of the layout of the mall.
3. Fuller,Lara; Shopping Center Business."On The Drawing Board". July 2006. This article shows the new trends and how there has been a popular interest with creating more strip malls or centers rather than enclosed malls. They claim what a customer of today wants is a more up scale shopping experience.
4. Murchison, Joe and Pichaske, Pete. Laurel Leader.com. " Hipper stores on tap for Laurel Mall?" 11/30/06. This article talks about why they are not re-doing the mall in its traditional style. It also explains the plans and description of what they want the major town center to look like.
5. O'Donnell, Jayne, USA Today. "Shoppers Turn to Town Centers." This article explain why it is more practical for people to run in and run out. They feel like these centers are more convenient for people especially when they can park their car right out side the store.
